          We decided to interview David Adjaye, a British architect of Ghanaian origin after having witnessed the screening of the film-portrait dedicated to him by director Oliver Hardt during the Milan Design Film Festival.

          The aspect that struck us most and which emerges from the documentary is Adjaye’s ability to catalyze around himself a tremendous number of commissioning clients, made up of artists (his first clients) and eminent figures from the world of culture and cultural and social institutions from all over the world.

          The architect’s dialogue with these clients and his ability to assimilate deeply critical issues for contemporary society result in buildings that are unique and totally different from each other because they have been designed to give a physical space to a strong idea but also to represent it, to celebrate it through architecture, its space and its users.
