Dr. Rafik Beekun is currently Professor of Management and Strategy and former chair of the Managerial Sciences Department, College of Business Administration at the University of Nevada in Reno, and Co-Director, Center for Corporate Governance and Business Ethics.

He has taught at Temple University and the University of Texas. He specializes in strategic management, international management, business ethics, leadership, and the links between spirituality and management.

From 2004 to 2007, he was, by the Grace of Allah, the President of the Association of the Muslim Social Scientists of the USA and Canada. He has also served as a zonal representative for the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), has been a member of the Majlis Shura of ISNA,  and was on the Board of Advisors of the North American Islamic Trust.

In 1999-2000, he served as a Senior Fulbright Scholar
