Barkha Dutt Biography

Barkha Dutt is a journalist and columnist and she is serving as the editor of the English News at New Delhi Television. She became very famous after her reportage of the Kargil War.

She has won many awards both national level and international level which includes Padma Shri award.

She is writing a column known as Third Eye in The Hindustan Times. She was taped in the 2G lobbying Radia tapes controversy and this scandal is called as Barkhagate.

 

She was born on 18^th December 1971 in New Delhi.

Her parents are S. P. Dutt, an officer in Air India and Prabha Dutt, well known journalist who worked in Hindustan Times. Her mother passed away in her prime age due to brain hemorrhage. Barkha has one younger sister Bahar Dutt who is working for CNN IBN TV.

 

She did her schooling at Modern School, New Delhi and finished her degree in English Literature from St.

Stephen’s College. She attended Jamia Millia Islamia Mass Communication
